How We Make Money

We believe you deserve to know exactly how this site works financially โ€” and how that does (and doesn't) affect the information we show you.

Bottom line: ChooseISP earns commissions when you sign up for internet service through our links. Our provider rankings and recommendations are based on coverage data and plan quality โ€” not who pays us more.

Affiliate Commissions

ChooseISP participates in affiliate programs with internet service providers. When you click a provider link on this site and subsequently sign up for service, we may receive a commission from that provider. This commission comes at no additional cost to you โ€” you pay the same price whether you use our link or go directly to the provider's website.

We partner with affiliate networks including Commission Junction (CJ Affiliate) and FlexOffers, which host programs for ISPs like Xfinity, AT&T, and Verizon. The existence of an affiliate relationship does not mean a provider is available at your address โ€” we only show providers whose FCC data confirms they cover your specific location.

What We Show You and Why

Our primary data source is the FCC National Broadband Map, based on Form 477 provider filings. Provider availability shown on this site reflects what ISPs have officially reported to the FCC as their service areas โ€” not what we've been paid to show.

We display all providers appearing in FCC data for your address, regardless of whether we have an affiliate relationship with them. Spectrum, for example, is one of the largest US ISPs and appears in our results, but we do not currently earn commissions on Spectrum sign-ups.

When multiple providers serve your address, we present them in a neutral format so you can compare speeds, technologies, and estimated prices side by side.

Editorial Independence

Our editorial team (the people who write guides, comparisons, and reviews on this site) operates independently from our business relationships. We do not allow affiliate commission rates to influence:

If we believe a provider has service quality issues based on public data, customer reviews, or FCC complaint filings, we will say so โ€” even if that provider pays us commissions.

No Paid Placements

Providers cannot pay to appear higher in your lookup results or to be shown as available at addresses where they don't serve. Results are determined entirely by FCC broadband coverage data mapped to your address.

We do not accept payment for "featured" or "sponsored" placement in lookup results. Any future display advertising on this site will be clearly labeled as such.

Display Advertising

We may also use display advertising networks (such as Google AdSense) to show relevant ads on some pages. Display ads are served automatically based on page content and your browsing context โ€” we do not control which specific ads appear. Display ad revenue is separate from affiliate commissions.

Questions?

If you have questions about our monetization or notice something that doesn't seem right, you can reach us at hello@chooseisp.com. We take editorial integrity seriously and will investigate any concerns.
